Electric Under Floor Heating
In an electric underfloor heating system, electric element is installed beneath tiling, wooden tongue and groove, carpet or within your screed flooring. The system installed will depend on the size of the room, current insulation, what the flooring below is like and the type of flooring you’ll have on top. Loose-fit, flexible wiring can fit into small or awkward spaces, electric cable systems, or heating mats you roll out to cover larger areas.
If your room is carpeted, a consideration will be thickness of underlay; this can stop heat moving upwards (1.5 tog or less is fine).
Prices for electric underfloor heating depend on a number of factors, which we will break down for you in our quote, but as a rough guide: underfloor heating mats start from around £180 for a kit which covers 10 square metres. We will factor in the cost of insulation board, screed and heating controls, as well as our electrician’s call out and labour charges.
All of our electric under floor heating installations are installed or tested by a certified and competent person under the Part P Building Regulations (Jan 2005) and we will ensure your local building control office are notified as necessary.
